In the Skyline Algebra I course, the major purpose is to formalize and extend the mathematics that students learned in the middle grades, working with linear, exponential and quadratic functions, solving systems of equations and inequalities, and analyzing data. The Mathematical Practice Standards applied throughout each course, together with the content standards, create mathematical learning experiences based upon reasoning and sense-making, building perseverance, problem-solving skills, and mathematical discourse.
