The Skyline music scopes and sequences are designed to be used by educators when aligning existing arts curricula, making updates based on new standards, or enhancing professional learning opportunities.
The matrix of prioritized standards in music shows how often different standards are utilized across multiple grades. This allows for vertical integration planning, collaboration across content areas, or modifications to curriculum maps. For example, if the 2nd grade arts curriculum must be modified due to time constraints, it may be best to use the matrix of prioritized standards to determine which standards could be taught the following year in 3rd grade.
