Getting to Know Three Sadlowski Class of 2025 Graduates
02 June 2025
Yvanna, Itzaiana, and Jimena have been close friends since kindergarten, and each exhibits the qualities of an outstanding student and a remarkable leader.

Meet Yvanna, Itzaiana, and Jimena, three 8th-grade students from the Class of 2025 at Sadlowski Elementary School! These three students have been members of their school community since kindergarten and have been close friends since then. Over the years, they have supported each other through their academic and personal journeys, and each exhibits the qualities of outstanding students, remarkable leaders, and upstanding citizens.
“While these three girls are very different, their bond is familial. They are hard-working, intelligent, and most importantly, kind,” said Mr. Blake Macdonald, one of their 8th-grade teachers. “They embody everything wonderful about Chicago Public Schools, and are products of their neighborhood, advocates for peace, and ambitious learners.”
In the fall, Yvanna will attend Lane Tech College Prep, while Itzaiana and Jimena will both attend George Washington High School. They all look forward to meeting new people and experiencing a change in environment after graduation. Learn more about them below!
What are some of your favorite memories from your time in elementary school?
Yvanna: I’ll always remember the people I met and the memories I made with them. I also made a lot of great memories in the clubs and after-school activities I participated in.
Itzaiana: One of my favorite memories here at Sadlowski is meeting my friends because they’ve been there for me during difficult times and have always been really supportive. Another favorite memory I’m very proud of is participating in the science fair and presenting my project to others.
Jimena: One of my favorite memories is also meeting my friends because without them, I wouldn’t be here. Another great memory was being admitted into one of my top high schools and being able to attend next year.
Is there a teacher at Sadlowski whom you know you’ll always remember?
Yvanna: A teacher I won’t ever forget is Ms. Godinez. She’s been my teacher for a couple of years now and continues supporting us after so long.
Itzaiana: Someone I’ll always remember is Mr. Mac. He’s always been an excellent teacher to us and has been super positive and supportive throughout the years. He’s made me feel safe at school and has pushed me to be a kinder person.
Jimena: For me, it would be Ms. Del Real, my second-grade teacher. She is very kind and very encouraging. Thanks to her support, I’ve been able to accomplish many things.
What are you considering as a potential future career?
Yvanna: I’m interested in potentially doing something in Business Management or Accounting.
Itzaiana: A career that I’m thinking of going into is architecture because of my love for drawing.
Jimena: I’m still deciding, but I’m between a lawyer and a physical therapist. I enjoy helping others and want to work with kids.
What is your message to the staff and students at Sadlowski?
Yvanna: Keep on pushing down your path! And always remember to be thoughtful about what you say or do.
Itzaiana: Always keep on going, even when times are tough!
Jimena: Do what your heart desires and don’t let anyone stop you!
