Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program provides grant funds to states and territories to provide families with time-limited financial assistance and related support services. State- administered programs may include child care assistance, job preparation, and work assistance.

Eligibility

Live in Illinois,
Be pregnant or have a child under 19,
Meet citizenship or immigration requirements, and
Develop a Responsibility and Services Plan (RSP) with the Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS)
