Step 1

Click the Log in as Student or Staff button above.

Step 2

Click on your CPS Google account or type in your CPS email address if prompted.

Step 3

If you are not automatically logged in, type your CPS username and click Go.

Step 4

Type your CPS password and click Go.

Step 5

You will be taken to the Staff Dashboard page on SchooLinks.

Before logging in to SchooLinks as a parent or guardian, you will need to claim your account by following the instructions below. Once you claim your account, you will be issued a password. The email you use to claim your account must match the one your student’s school has on record. If you experience any difficulty claiming your account, contact your student’s school to request an update to the email that is on record at your student’s school.

On the login screen, select “claim an account”. DO NOT choose “sign up as guardians”.

Click the Log In as Parent or Guardian button above.

Ensure Guardians & Members is selected on the SchooLinks login portal.

Step 3

Select Forgot Password. Do not use the “Claim Account,” “Sign up as a guardian,” or other links on this page. The only way to claim your CPS SchooLinks parent/ guardian account is through the Forgot Password process.

Step 4

Enter your email address. You must use the same email address as your Login ID for Aspen Parent Portal. You must have access to see your student in Aspen Parent Portal in order to have access to SchooLinks. Contact your student’s school if you need to create an Aspen Parent Portal Login ID. You will receive an email prompting you to create a password immediately as long as the email address matches one with an active user account. Note: Although the Login ID for Parent Portal and SchooLinks are the same, the passwords can be different.

In our firm commitment to support students to prepare for the next stage in life beyond high school, Individual Learning Plans (ILP) have been programmed in SchooLinks – a set of career exploration and readiness activities assigned to students in grades 6 through 12. ILP activities align postsecondary readiness in three domains:

1. Foundational Skills: The transferable skills needed for a lifetime of learning and success.
2. Career Awareness and Alignment: An understanding of the various possibilities for long-term employment and the knowledge necessary to enter and progress in a career field.
3. Academic and Financial Readiness for Postsecondary: The knowledge and savvy to manage costs and rigor associated to opportunities in college, military, employment, job training, apprenticeship, and gap year programs.

As a culminating activity, students upload into SchooLinks evidence of their post-high school plan to fulfill the Learn.Plan.Succeed. graduation requirement. Students and families are strongly encouraged to work with school counselors and other champions at schools to create a meaningful plan for their next chapter in life, whether that be college, an apprenticeship, a full-time job, or other exciting options. CPS is committed to the promise that each student will graduate informed of and  prepared for postsecondary options, and we know that with hard work, perseverance, and a curious mind, each student will realize their fullest potential.

In coordinated efforts with postsecondary institutions, employers, and other public and private organizations and in partnership with SchooLinks, CPS is aligned to accomplish the intended outcomes outlined in the IL Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness (PWR) Act.
