Programs

  • Children and Family Benefits Unit

We oversee district-wide CPS student enrollment in Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to assure access to health insurance and strengthen food security.

  • Health Promotion

We manage district health and wellness policies related to sexual health, nutrition education, physical activity, recess, school gardens, early childhood wellness, and chronic conditions.

  • Health Information, Monitoring, and Reporting

We manage district-level personnel to support schools through strategic communications and technical assistance, oversight of internal and external research, evaluation, and data collection.

  • Student Health Services (Dental, Hearing, Infection Control, Primary Healthcare, and Vision)

We provide CPS students with age-appropriate screening, preventive services, and treatment services that are medically necessary to correct or improve any identified conditions, ensuring that we are giving the right care to the right child at the right time in the right setting. We also oversee school-based health centers and mobile care providers.
